DESCRIPTION

The aim of this tool is to support Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in successfully adapting to climate change by developing participatory adaptation plans. It serves as a guide in stakeholder engagement and public participation processes, which are crucial for the development of climate change mitigation and adaptation action plans. Additionally, it presents climate change adaptation options endorsed or selected by pilot MPAs and defines common priority actions that should be implemented by all Mediterranean MPAs in response to the effects of climate change.

This tool has been developed and/or tested under the project Interreg MED MPA Engage and has been incorporated into the MBPC/ENSERES Mediterranean Biodiversity Protection Tools Catalogue.
