The Innovation Procurement Platform’s Good Practice Resource Centre is a publicly accessible hub of innovation procurement examples, case studies, guidance and tools designed to help public authorities and
practitioners adopt innovation-oriented public procurement strategies. Managed by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability within the framework of the Procure2Innovate project and supported by the European Union, the platform collates best practices, documentation models, process insights and criteria sets that illustrate how to plan, implement and evaluate procurement procedures aimed at acquiring innovative products, services or processes.
The resources cover a wide range of sectors (such as ICT, energy, buildings, transport and health) and include both case studies of successful innovation procurements and practical guidance on innovation procurement procedures (e.g., competitive dialogue, pre-commercial procurement). The repository helps public buyers better understand how to overcome challenges, engage markets and structure tenders that stimulate supply-side innovation while addressing public needs.
